Model History

1998 saw Porsche debut its new Carrera model, the 996. It featured the most significant changes to the model since its introduction in 1963. The most significant change to the 996 was the decision to utilize a water-cooled engine rather than an air-cooled engine for the first time.

The 996 was a completely new design for Porsche, led by Mr Harm Lagaay. It was also the first 911 that used all new body work and did not carry over any significant component from the previous model. Another significant change was the new headlight design which can be traced back to the Porsche Pan-America concept car. Other changes included a sleeker body design with a more steeply raked windshield and a complete re-designed interior space, aimed at the luxury market.

in 2002, Carrera 4S model was first introduced. The C4S as it is commonly called shares the wide-body look of the Turbo as well as the brakes and suspension.

Equipment

Parking assist, Satillite navigation, switchable sports exhaust, Electric memory seats, Manual box, Front and side airbags, Cruise control, Climate control, Electric windows, Communication pack, Bose sound system, Electric mirrors, Xenon headlights, Anti-glare interior mirror, Graduated tinted windscreen.

Exterior

Arguably one of the best combinations of Basalt black with black leather this C4S looks stunning with the highlighted red reflective rear strip and red Porsche calipers. The car is in very original condition, has never been painted and still has its Porsche dealer number plates. The Basalt black paint polishes to a deep lustful shine. In keeping with the mileage and original paint there is a peppering of stone chips to the front bumper and light marks around the body that have been carefully touched in, in particular on the drivers door. The new owner might want further paintwork done on the car or decide to retain the originality of the factory paint.

Interior

The interior is in great shape and has some nice extras including the satillite navigation and adjustable sports exhaust. The condition of the leather seats is excellent and it remains soft to the touch and still has its original matt sheen with no wear or sagging. Everything works exactly as it should and none of the pixels have run on the heater controls. There are very few scratches or signs of wear to the rest of the trim and the carpets are immaculate and well protected with the original Porsche mats. The trunk area is clean and all the tools and spare wheel is neatly housed under the carpet.

Engine & Transmission

The engine compartment is immaculate and the car has been serviced every year so has always been kept in first rate mechanical condition. The adjustable sports exhaust is a great option and sounds glorious out on the open road.

Wheels, Tyres & Brakes

All of the alloys have just refurbished in the correct shade of Porsche silver and they are shod in matching Pirelli P-Zero tyres that all have plenty of tread left. The brakes show minimal wear and the discs were cleaned on the last service with the vent holes drilled.

History File

This C4S comes with a very good service history that is all stamped in the original service book as follows;

02/2006 - 4,541
04/2007 - 13,811
05/2008 - 20,029
05/2009 - 27,835
04/2010 - 32,156
08/2011 - 41,715
12/2012 - 45,578

The first 6 stamps are all the same Porsche dealer and the last was done by a Porsche Specialist. The file also includes the invoices for the last 4 services. The current owner has had the car for 7 years with 2 previous showing on the V5.
