Porsche 996 Turbo | £33,995
Mileage: 22,575Model History
1998 saw Porsche debut its new Carrera model, the 996. It featured the most significant changes to the model since its introduction in 1963. The most significant change to the 996 was the decision to utilize a water-cooled engine rather than an air-cooled engine for the first time.
The 996 was a completely new design for Porsche, led by Mr Harm Lagaay. It was also the first 911 that used all new body work and did not carry over any significant component from the previous model. Another significant change was the new headlight design which can be traced back to the Porsche Pan-America concept car.
Other changes included a sleeker body design with a more steeply raked windshield and a complete re-designed interior space, aimed at the luxury market.
In 2000, Porsche debuted the 996 Turbo, equipped with a four-wheel-drive system and a 3.6 litre, twin turbo-charged, flat-six engine that now produced 420 bhp, propelling the car from 0 to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds. The engine used in the 996 Turbo is a derivative of the Metzger engine found in the Le Mans winning GT1 race car, it also has none of the supposed weaknesses associated with the standard 996 Carrera engine.
Since its release in 2000, the Porsche 996 Turbo has been a huge success, famed for its reliability, usability and its staggering performance.

Telephone/Sat nav/Cd player, Bose sound system, Electric mirrors, Xenon headlights, Anti-glare interior mirror, Graduated tinted windscreen.
Exterior
This 996 Turbo is finished in a stunning shade of Basalt Black Metallic paintwork with the rare GT2 body kit. The front spoiler, side skirts, rear bumper and striking GT2 rear spoiler sets this Turbo apart from most, creating a more purposeful stance with aggressive lines, ducts and vents on show. Having been fully detailed in house for the past 2 days this car is now taking centre stage, glimmering metallic under our studio lights. The paintwork retains a deep glossy shine with no blemishes or damage, on close inspection there are some expected light stone chips to be found on the bonnet, however the rest of the paintwork remains in fine fettle. All of the window rubbers and surrounds are in excellent condition with no scuffs or damage, smaller details such as the badges and carbon fibre grill are also in excellent order.
Interior
Opening the doors on the 996 you are first presented with chrome side sill trims displaying the 'Turbo' signature, reminding you that you are about to step into something a little special. Once inside, the interior tone is smart and restrained with soft black leather that extends from the seats, along the dashboard and back down to the door panels. Subtly embossed in the centre of headrests is the elegant Porsche emblem, a stylish factory option upon the soft ruffled leather of the seats. Throughout the car all of the leather is in excellent condition, the rear seats remain in notably fine order and the seat bolsters are showing very little wear, still feeling firm and supportive. The metallic silver centre console is a beautifully stark contrast to the predominantly dark interior, draped along the centre of the cockpit it houses the majority of switchgear and the communications pack. The black leather bound steering wheel is showing surprisingly little wear with a deep texture that is split between the contrast of the smooth metallic silver trim. Sadly the LCD display in the centre console has run however this is due to be replaced.
Engine & Transmission
Having covered a mere 22k miles in the past 10 years, the 3.6 litre twin turbocharged flat-six engine is in fine fettle. The 996 has been used sparingly throughout its life by its current owner and never gone more than 10k miles between service inspections, the last being a major service at Porsche Centre West London and having covered less than 300 miles since. The engine runs very smoothly and coupled with the tiptronic S gearbox pulls well throughout the rev range providing a familiar Porsche soundtrack and stunning performance, 0-60 mph is dealt with in just 4.2 seconds and it goes on to a top speed of 189 mph.
Wheels, Tyres & Brakes
The car comes with its factory 18" alloy wheels that we have recently had refurbished by Lepsons in the correct Sterling Silver Metallic paintwork, all four Porsche centre caps are present and correct. The wheels are shod in a matching set of Pirelli P zero tyres. The red Porsche calipers look fantastic sitting behind the alloy spokes, as expected on a car of this performance the brakes feel extremely capable, pulling the car to a standstill quickly and smoothly.
History File
The 996 was first registered in January 2003. All of the service history has been undertaken by Porsche Centre West London with the exception of one minor service inspection in 2006. The car has never gone more than 10k miles between service inspections, the most recent service inspection being a major service including brake fluid change and an airbag system check at 22k miles.
The car comes with its original Porsche document holder containing the owner's manuals and guides.
