First introduced in October 2000 the E46 M3 featured an all new 3.2L M-tuned engine. The engine had the highest specific naturally aspirated output ever made by BMW at the time producing 343bhp and 365 NM. Praised by press, the S54 engine redlines at a high 8000 rpm and breaths its oxygen through 6 independent throttle bodies electronically operated resulting in immediate responsive from the high revving power unit.
Available as a coupe or convertible the E46 was offered with a 6 speed manual Getrag gearbox or an optional SMG drivelogic gearbox (a standard 6 speed gearbox with an electro hydraulically actuated clutch pedal).
This model is a post 2003 facelift version, benefiting from LED rear lights and the SMG II gearbox amongst other minor cosmetic improvements.

Exterior
This stunning M3 has been pampered by its owner, detailed on a regular basis and kept garaged. The paintwork is in astonishing condition with an ultra smooth finish and deep glossy shine, there are only a few light stone chips to the front that have been carefully touched in. None of the trim or rubber seals are damaged or showing any wear and there are no marks or chips to any of the glass or lights.
The black soft top is in excellent condition and working order, folding away quickly and neatly with a push of the interior button or even the key fob before entering the car.
Interior
The current owner of 6 years has treated this car very carefully and kept the interior in first rate order, the heated leather seats show no wear to the bolsters and the leather has been kept well fed so still feels soft and supple to the touch. The dash and door cards are in excellent condition and the steering wheel still retains its texture to the leather that often wears flat. The carpets are perfectly clean and the car has just been treated to a brand new set of BMW mats. The boot area is also perfectly clean with no marks on the carpet or scratches where larger items have been loaded.
The specification on this car is particularly high with heated memory leather, Harman Kardon music system and wide screen satellite navigation to name a few.
Engine & Transmission
This example has a full and up to date BMW service history and is in first rate mechanical order. The last service was done less than 200 miles ago and the car has been fully inspected on arrival at 4 Star by our technician and given a clean bill of health.
Wheels, Tyres & Brakes
The car has the desirable 19" alloys wrapped in matching Continental tyres with plenty of tread. There is no bad damage or lacquer peel on the alloys although there are a few light curb marks on 3 of the wheels. The brakes are in perfect working order with plenty of tread on both discs and pads.
History File
This M3 was first registered in August 2003 so is the face lift version with improved SMG gearbox and lights. The all important running in check was done at 1,199 miles and the rest of the service history is all BMW and stamped up in the original service book. The last service was an oil service and was done in February this year at 59,175 miles, the next due service will be the Inspection 1.
The full document pack is also with the car with all the manuals and owners guides, all MOT's have also been kept to further verify the low mileage. The last owner has owned the car for 6 years with 3 previous and the car is HPI clear.
