Nissan GT-R | £53,995
Mileage: 5,857Model History
The Nissan GT-R was first released at the end of 2007 and draws on the heritage from the Skyline GT-Rs that were produced in the early 70s and 90s by Nissan. Like the Skyline R32 through to the R34s the latest GT-R has a 6 cylinder turbo charged engine (albeit in a V), 4 wheel drive and 4 signature round tail lights. Carrying on the heritage of the Skyline the chassis number of the latest GT-R is labelled the R35.
The first release came in Japan followed 7 months later in the U.S and Canada in July 2008. It was not until 2009 that Europe saw the GT-R. The large gaps between release was due to Nissan having to build GT-R performance centres around the world to support the technical advancements in the car and also the very fact that the engine and rear mounted duel clutch gearboxes were lovingly built by hand, therefore limiting production capacity.
The design of the GT-R drew heavy influence from Japanese culture and looks every bit the part. Nissan's chief creative officer Shiro Nakamura stated "the GT-R is unique because it is not simply a copy of a European-designed supercar; it had to really reflect Japanese culture". The lines and style of the car were influenced by Gundam robots (a cult Japanese animated TV series) and Mecha (mobile robot suits). Polyphony Digital the creators of Gran Turismo series of automotive racing games were also themselves involved with the development designing the GT-Rs multifunction display.
The GT-R body construction used jigs similar to race car construction and featured large amounts of aluminium with all outer body panels stamped using a multi-strike coining process to increase rigidity and precision. The paint work is applied in an advanced 6 stage process with double clear coat with special paint options applied in an 8 step, 3 clear coat production.
2011 saw the introduction of a facelift model with revised engine mapping, changes to valve timing, larger inlets and a revised exhaust system boosting power up from 478bhp to 530. Changes also include a new, more rigid front strut bar made from carbon composite, larger front brake calipers and new lighter and stiffer wheels. Cosmetic changes include a new front bumper with integrated LEDs. The front bumper was redesigned to improve cooling to the radiator and front brakes while reducing drag. The gearbox software was also re-calibrated for faster and smoother shifts, as well as increased clutch life.
The performance of the GT-R is devastating. Comparison tests have been carried out all over the globe by various journalist and motoring programs. Rivals included the BMW M3, Audis R8s both in V8 and V10 form, Porsche 911s GT3, Turbos and Carreras, Lamborghini Gallardos and Corvettes. In nearly all cases and on varying tracks and speed circuits from the Isle of Man to the Nurburgring the GT-R remained at the front in terms of sheer speed and laptimes!

From every angle the GT-R provides an arresting view, with intakes, bulges and sculpted body-lines to absorb.
It goes without saying that the condition of this example is second to none, with only a few minor marks to the paint shield on one of the panels (paintwork remains un-touched) and no unsightly scuffs or marks to be found, this is an exceptional specimen.

Engine & Transmission
Beneath the beautiful enticing silver/red engine cover, lurks a powerhouse 3.8 litre turbocharged V6 engine that produces an astonishing 542 bhp, launching the GT-R from a standing start to 60 mph in less than 3 seconds. A revived ECU and new exhaust system also help to improve fuel economy.
This staggering performance is achieved utilizing a dual-clutch 6 speed gearbox which can be operated in either manual or automatic 'R' mode. The GT-R comes with a transferable maintenance package that will enable the new owner to have this year and the following years annual service free of charge, excluding wear and tear items.
This example is in A1 mechanical condition, having covered minimal mileage and always left to warm up to the correct temperature before exceeding 3000 rpm. It has also been exclusively maintained to the highest standard by the same specialist at Nissan Slough.
Wheels, Tyres & Brakes
This GT-R is equipped with the re-designed, premium 20" lightweight forged alloy wheels. Every wheel remains free from any sort of scuff or kerb mark, filling the large wheel arches perfectly and giving the car a planted, purposeful stance.
The alloy wheel are shod in the optional nitrogen-filled, Dunlop SP Sport 600 tyres that measure 255ZRF40/20 on the front and P285ZRF35/20 on the rear. The GT-R is spec'd with a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and the run-flat tyre operation.
Behind the alloy spokes, the sensational looking Brembo monoblock calipers are painted in a beautifully contrasting copper paint and are clamped to the large 15" Brembo full-floating cross-drilled brake pads, that help to minimize brake fade and provide exceptional braking performance.
